Michael served on the local Council for sixteen years and held a number of key positions in that time including that of Vice Chair of Housing. Michael has continued in the housing arena through his membership of the TAROE. Michael has served as a Director of the Independent Housing Ombudsman's service representing TAROE for a full six year period. Michael has a background in personnel and has served, since 1979, as a lay member of the Employment Tribunals service and is also the Chairperson of the Liverpool Employment Tribunals Members' Association... In Runcorn where he lives, Michael is involved in many voluntary and community groups which cover the disciplines of community safety, poverty, disability, youth, welfare rights and drug issues. Michael is very proud to be the Chair of the very successful Halton Credit Union, Chair of the seventy place Acorn Community Nursery and is equally proud to be the Company Secretary of Halton Community Partnership Trust, which is a one-stop shop for the voluntary sector.

Linda has 30 years professional housing experience mostly working at a senior level in the sector. During this time Linda held the positions of Assistant Director of Housing at Wirral MBC and Operations Director at Halton BC before becoming a housing consultant and trainer in 2003. In recent years, Linda’s focus has been on tenant empowerment projects, including helping landlords and tenants to develop tenant scrutiny panels and reviewing landlord’s involvement strategies. She is currently Managing Director of Linda Levin Partnership Limited.

Independent Housing Advisor and former CEO of TPAS and Executive Director at Tenant Services Authority

For the past 12 years Phil has been the leading authority on tenant involvement in housing and communities. In his two senior roles as Chief Executive of TPAS and Executive Director of Tenant Services at the Tenant Services Authority, he has ensured tenant involvement is at the heart of the new Regulatory Framework and the work of social housing. Phil is currently an independent consultant, speaker and commentator working with a number of Housing Associations, ALMOs and Councils.

Sasha has over 20 years experience in the social housing sector and is currently Chief Executive, Irwell Valley Housing Association, where she has responsibility for strategic direction, operations, growth and finance. She is committed to developing people, as well as organisations, believing that this is the key to success. She was delighted to receive the award of ‘most inspirational mentor’ in 2013 from the inaugural Women In Housing awards in recognition of her work supporting others to succeed. Previously, Sasha was Deputy Chief Executive of Wulvern Housing, in Crewe.

Tim has been supporting local authority councillors and the democratic process for over 30 years. He has worked at County and Unitary Councils and rural and urban District Councils, implementing and supporting revised political management arrangements for nearly 15 years. Before joining the Centre for Public Scrutiny 10 years ago, Tim developed the framework for health scrutiny in Middlesbrough and across the Tees Valley. As the Centre’s Deputy Executive Director, Tim manages our work promoting accountable health and social care services and tackling health inequalities. Building on the success of our popular health scrutiny support programme, Tim helps CfPS to work with others to develop future policy around accountability and patient and public involvement in health, care and well-being.
